In this latest edition (2023) of Applied Anatomy for Yoga Teachers and Students, we learn how to apply basic anatomy to our yoga practice and teaching, create simple yoga-based sequences to assist movement repatterning, use asana as a therapeutic modality of healing, and support ourselves and our students/clients through an injury rehabilitation process. Topics covered include the major joints, muscles and connective tissues of the body, proper kinetics for yoga asana, understanding complicated joints including the knee, sacroiliac joint and the shoulder, safe and therapeutic movements for certain common medical problems and injuries, the importance of being internally awake through the feet, pelvic floor and psoas, the function and relationship of the abdominals to the practice and to the body, cultivating a healthy back and how to work with back problems, the infamous psoas, and why energy anatomy is relevant and important to a balanced practice. This book is a guide that can be valued on its own or used in conjunction with anatomy trainings and seminars.
As yoga students and teachers we are always looking for anatomy information that is understandable and relevant to the practice. Asha Wolf approaches anatomy as both a physical therapist and a dedicated yoga practitioner, which gives her a unique perspective that she articulates clearly and with insight. We highly recommend this book!

This book can be enjoyed on its own or can be used as a guide in Yin Yoga teacher trainings.
What a gem of a little textbook. It was required reading for a yoga teacher training program, and it did not disappoint. I loved the way it was organized, as well as the photos and drawings. If you ever get to study in person with Asha, you are one of the lucky souls on the planet. If not, don't pass up on this little book!
