My friend came to the barn last week to visit James. While she was hanging out with him, she expressed her curiosity about horses dreaming.
Do horses dream?
I thought it was a great question, and promised to ask James. Well, I don’t know if my friend was wanting a more scientific answer. But, James expressed his truth about the matter, and it was quite an amusing reply:
“Of course I dream! I dream about apples and horse cookies and molasses and carrots and my grain. I dream about green grass and bales of hay. I dream about friends that are no longer in the pasture with me. And, I dream about you and I galloping off into the sunset. (You know I’m a bit of a romantic, even though I don’t show it.) Of course we dream! We dream about all the things we love. Although, many times when we sleep, we connect to the great Horse Collective. We share wisdom and experiences and get downloads of information. It’s like the internet for horses. That’s why I’m so wise. I soak up the knowledge from the Horse Collective. I use my dream time wisely when I’m not dreaming about a field full of carrots!” --James
